After reading the mixpanel part, I can’t understand why Dropbox got funding given Box existed. Or why Azure, when their was aws.Why Lyft when there was Uber?
I grew up in China and have lived in the U.S. for 10 years. One of the reasons that I moved to the U.S. was because of the fear for censorship. It’s been getting worse since 2005. I don’t think the country is heading towards the right direction and I think it is repeating some of the mistakes it had made before in history.
I’m in a similar situation and considering quitting. I also have had a mvp built for a saas idea but I don’t know if that can give me financial independence. Maybe 6 months later, after spending too much savings, I will need to look for a new job again.
I’m being approached by a startup also. What they promised (the work I will be doing) seems to be nice. But I am hesitating. Don’t want to be burnt out again.
don't get attached to this type of things. sometimes they reject people, because certain team doesn't have budget anymore, i.e. not your fault. sometimes, this is just pure luck. tech interview is kinda broken. I know capable people being rejected by google, I also know incompetent people got accepted by google and Facebook. As an example, my friend got to know a fellow engineer during google's orientation. That engineer told my friend that he/she heard that google usually won't fire engineers due to performance issues. So he/she had decided to fool around. that's how fucked up the interview process is. people with passion and real experiences get filtered out. people who prepare the interviews as exams get accepted.
the right strategy is applying for many companies all at once. overlap your preparation effort. don't just try and count on one company.

Yes, there are sub-cultures in China that would accept dog eating, but I hate it and don't support it. And the majority of the people don't support it. There are activists in China fighting for the criminalization of dog eating.

However, a pangram is impossible to find in Chinese, given its alphabet size.
