I'm glad to hear it! That won't stop the minority who seek to profit from those technologies pushing them on the rest of us, of course.
I remember first noticing how cryptocurrency enthusiasts were completely ignorant about both currency and technology. A few years later I found some of these people had gotten more trading experience than many people working in finance had gotten in several times the time.
Last year I was at the funeral of a relative who'd died of COVID-19. Two year prior her husband had committed suicide. Her boyfriend (whose affair with her was a factor in the husband's suicide) showed up and wanted to boast how he'd scored a graphics card so he could mine Etherium. I told him that I couldn't get a graphics card to game or train neural networks and I didn't want to hear about this s*t anymore.
If it was today I might have kicked his ass and gotten away with it.
