I found this a refreshing change from the regular “Russians/ Ukrainians are total losers/heroes” fluff. Gives the gritty picture with real numbers, issues, and tactics of both sides.

Exposes some peacetime fallacies, misconceptions and pitfalls for Western militaries, such as the dependence on functioning long runways and limited precision munitions.

Didn't Czechia, Poland, and others give old Soviet jet fighters to Ukraine though?

There was talk about it, but to my knowledge nothing had come through. I only recall that US blocked Polish request for sending MiG-29s to Ukraine, due to these fighters having been upgraded with NATO technology.
