The comments under the article are... something.
Maybe it has always been this way, but how this whole ordeal happened (for as far as I understand it): not being helped feels too flippant, cold and indifferent. It feels society is like that nowadays in too many aspects. Not in all aspects, but definitely in too many.

Had that happened where I live, the bystander may well have committed an offense. [1]

The same thing happened in Vancouver at a Starbucks. So tragic.
