Too bad there is no mention on the specific model of nuclear reactor they were considering.
It would have been a more or less bespoke light PWR at the tail end of the plane. The limiting variable is shielding weight, but the article said that the endurance was limited by crew rations. Contemporaneous shielding-clad reactors were too heavy. Another article mentioned molten metal to the wings which would have made a second stage cooling loop.
