Couldn't keep myself from asking if it's AI generated.

Right? It's generic, nothing far from the stereotypes; no specific information. I also found it repetitive at the end.

It's AI generated according to on-line AI check tools

At this point, HN has to check every submission for AI content I guess.

Ah.

"Around 3 years back, after spending seven years as an entrepreneur—I found myself at crossroads. Having built startups, one of which was acquired, I decided to step away from the rollercoaster of entrepreneurship to explore what being an employee is like."

That reads like the typical press release after a CEO is fired.

Author of the post here. Yes, AI did help me frame it because I am an average write at best. I have never been a good writer while I have a few experiences to share. I never shared anything earlier exactly because of that reason. AI helps me put my thoughts into a coherent structure.

Even if the post accurately reflects your lived experience, if it's AI generated, ultimately it is just that, generated by an AI, who is not you. People can smell that from a mile away, and they dislike it. (as they should!)

Get over your anxiety over your writing and just share your authentic self. How good or bad a writer you are doesn't really matter. (like OK it has to be legible but beyond that no one is expecting perfection)

It's whether the story you're telling, the experience you're sharing etc is thought provoking that matters.

But what the AI generated is also average at best, and it also stripped your voice from the story.

It is great! But also very verbose, it would make it. Much easier if there had been a "condense" step.

I haven’t read many stories or posts from entrepreneurs turned employees. This was refreshing, albeit lacking in details.

I had the exact same thought when I was transitioning into an employee and have been wanting to write this post for a long a time. I hope to share more details in a few follow up posts soon.

one small idea I read somewhere that I found interesting for thought

at a startup: you might work on an entire page that impacts thousands of people

at a larger firm: you might work on a single form that impacts millions

Re your last point: I am not sure if it’s a urban story, but I’ve heard there is an entire team at YouTube working on the play button.
