Stoat: A Good Alternative to Discord?
The main reason I use Discord is the users on the platform. I am locked into it via the network effect.
I will say, I tried out Stoat when it was still called Revolt, and it seems to be good enough to replace Discord for many common use-cases.
It could be worth it, but only if the people you talk to on Discord follow you.

It cant be worse than discord because that is turning into a spyware and stealing your data so I am moving to stoat anyway
But then I found Stoat, and it seems almost like a 1:1 to discord, with a few differences:
1) it's hosted in europe, so has better privacy and follows good laws(looking at you, american cloud act) 2) Open source 3) May become federated, if the massive user demand is heard.
Is it worth it?
