While complex, greying hair seems like a finite and solvable problem given enough time. Build a large enough genome database, exhaustive studies for hormone balances, and do the science…it feels “treatable”.
Where as wholesale aging and solving for aging in general will be a totally other monster that never gets fully solved just partially treated. Extensions of healthy life and total lifetime seem fairly likely while “Freezing” aging is likely impossible.
Interesting that corticosteroids had that effect, as well as all of the other methodologies.
Feels like an underexplored avenue for comprehensive studies/research
I completely deleted all of my pretty well followed and active social accounts (Facebook, instagram, and snap). Not deactivate, delete. At first there is a large emotional penalty I felt by “disconnecting” from people, however it’s been well over two years and my life is pound for pound better. I do miss interacting with some friends at times but honestly if they’re real friends, I call or text.
Social took away a lot of my attention and disconnected me from reality. I’m not saying do what I do, but for me it was a game changer.
I’ve been following it since I was in college (early 10’s) and I’m beyond excited. I have serious anxiety around the launch going well and getting the telescope safely into orbit. Truly priceless.
That sounds horrible. This place has become a little solace of mine. There’s probably some theoretical threshold for when a community grows to a certain size it becomes more and more difficult to having meaningful discourse. The noise becomes too great
Blue Origin has become a pathetic attempt at being a pseudo-tradinational aerospace company “funded” by the government. Jeffs become an obnoxious capital hoarder who doesn’t want to put his money where is mouth is to get the job done. He’s touted around like some sort of management genius but by most relative measures Blue Origin is, in its current state, a failure.
She’s found a bit of traction. Ads convert to customers but the CAC is high and not “uniquely defensible”. It’s low/code no/code website but the idea is there and she’s proven the marketability of it
That’s a fair question. If she can find a male who is interested in building a woman’s wellness platform for women then I know she would go for it. However, there are some gender bias barriers she’s faced when sharing her idea and it doesn’t always “click” with men.
That’s one of the scariest potentials of higher CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. Maybe it’s just a phase now but a significant reduction in clouds is actually a predicted outcome from increased heating.
Going vegan is the only proven method (with regards to consumption) to reduce your risk of cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. If you care about longevity and consume large amounts of meat you’re doing the equivalent of smoking cigarettes everyday.
It’s become abundantly apparent over the past few years that climate change is striking right now. Unfortunately it’s still in 1st gear and we are far from yet close to some truly horrendous changes in earths equilibrium. In college (4-5 years ago) I often tried to explain to friends how much energy was required to add a single degree in average temperature to the worlds oceans (it’s a fuck ton) and we’re well past that point. I’m genuinely convinced this will lead to an extinction level event where we either make it through radically changed or society as a whole catastrophically fails.
