yeah I was thinking about doing it in RAID, but then I thought: I am gonna be using this NAS just for a redundant backups from my external hard drive and laptop, so I won't really lose anything if it shits the bed :D
I know what you mean, but if I followed that anxious mindset.... then anyone who would die from a minor scratch probably deserves to die. Darwin in action, yes please.
I am aware of my hypocrisy, but I would honestly rather live with primal tribes and not stress about all the shit happening with the world. I mean, what kind of a society will my eventual children grow into? 1984-Big brother world. Jesus.
I would rather hunt a bear, then eat it for a week with my tribe, and then dance around the fire while drinking some psychedelic drink in the warm night, seeing all the stars and milky way without all the light pollution. Oh wouldn't that be just stress-free life?
I am glad this happened, only shows that you shouldn't fuck with nature. If you are not supposed to have children, don't. Not like it matters anyway - why? To spread your genetic material and make another instance of a human producing toxic waste damaging the planet (in multiple ways - another consumer supporting the cancerous growth of FB, Instagram, Google, Tinder and Apple)? Is it not enough of us here? Spreading like a virus. Well, nature doesn't care anyway, and will kill us if this continues and then will carry on without us.
Working for yourself. Creating your own business, not being a slave to the system and being manipulated by media and the collective unconscious into thinking it's normal to work for someone, to sell your SELF, not your products (as it should be, in a rational society). Sadly, nothing about todays society is rational. But hey, if you wanna spend 1/3 of your life working a job you think is "OK", fucking have at it.
I would be ashamed to have written on my tombstone "worked 1/3 of his life as a sys admin".
There is no meaning in that. Just an empty job to have money, for what? For more stuff? To teach your children to do the same? Keeping materialistic corporations afloat with me taking care of the servers and stuff.
well, what are you gonna do about the global warming?
convince people to stop using their IPhones, stop using your PC, stop driving cars, stop using electricity. Bam, problem solved. Or try to overthrow corporations with big carbon monoxide signatures. Yeah, I didn't think so.
It is an immensely complex problem that has no easy solution, and people talking about it is not gonna do much, or is it??
> Google is not only constantly tracking our online movements but may also be monitoring our physical locations.
our locations? no way, we had no idea :O
> report contained an incredible amount documentation on his web activity, going back over a decade.
another dude who doesn't know how to turn off google's history
> the amount of time he spent there, and even the path he took to get there and back
jesus christ, did a footbal mum write this article?
> discovered the company had been archiving his data even when he browsed in Incognito mode, a setting that advertises itself as one that does not save browsing history.
yeah.. history vs IP/browser fingerprinting
Overall nothing new in this article and the title is obviously a false statement.
The file is bigger because he's been using the service longer and my take is that Google is tracking the location almost continuosly (more data), whereas Facebook has way way more sensitive data, like... chat messages and images with all your friends for the past 10 years..
