I would have self-hosted.

I had a super popular Tumblr for a few years, hundreds of thousands of followers, but when Tumblr went conservo and de-platformed adult blogs, blog "no more was".

I could have moved it to another platform, of course, but the tedium and volume didn't satisfy my means-ends. I had no backup strategy, mechanically abdicating to Tumblr's platform and its theretofore liberal content policies.

Had I self-hosted, it would still be live and popular.

In short, consider your host carefully. Self-host with a backup strategy would probably be best.

I was, yes. I think it's one of the most beautiful ever. It's so readable, both in print and digitally.

It was once widely available on OS/browser, but is increasingly not. It's not on Win 11 or the latest Chrome, for example.

I glossed over your performance criteria, however; shame on me.

I adore this font for everything, especially eBooks, but I haven't tested it against a responsive web UI.

I assume it's an Apple knockoff, or maybe even an original.

I recommend it highly, especially for eBooks.

Paramount+ just announced the new Frasier, and they were quick to announce that each episode would drop weekly, as opposed to all at once.

*Click, click, click, Wikipedia, last episode = 12 Dec 2023; click, click, click; Google Calendar :: New Event, 12 Dec :: FRASIER REBOOT S1 READY TO VIEW*

Am not going to pay 4 months when I can pay 1.

Re: Yearly plans to curb stream jumping? HA HA HA. No.

"Who of us is to say that the goal of this life is not in the leaving it?" — Vladimir Nabokov, "Pale Fire", but not certain on this attribution.

Don DeLillo's 'Libra' is sterling, convincingly colors the multiple-shooter narrative, and adds lots of depth to Oswald the man - a whole biography really. It is a novel, therefore fiction; but, by now, what of the assassination's narrative isn't in question? Highly recommended.

They were the very best anti-depressant. You didn't even have to listen to the show. Their cachinnation alone, like two stoned hens, would do it.

Tom's irrepressible laughter was side-splittingly funny, giggling so hard at times that he'd break into piggy-sounding chortles.

I still love those guys and always will.
