if anyone is interested in this topic of how these things happen and the general lawlessness of the seas due to tragedy of the commons I highly recommend Outlaw Ocean by Ian Urbina
You might want to note that you can test it on the testnet. It looks like it works, i did it using ropsten testnet but the verbiage in the posting says mainnet regardless of if it is actually the mainnet.
I would say it is not actually a mixer. The point you are making actually points more towards them being temp addresses for exchanges. More people entering the market on exchanges, higher volume in exchanges, higher volume in this tempwallet "mixer"
Yeah, this was my thought as well. 67% of all ETH transaction volume in a mixer seems pretty high, particularly when you consider the volume traded on each of the exchanges
Thank you very much for this description. I did not understand the implications or effect the change had. My question is - as a number of exchanges operating in the US (polo, kraken, GDAX) require Id's or some form of verification, what changes are really required? New AML/Compliance departments?
Also will individuals P2P transmitting cryptocurrency have to perform these same checks?
Same thing happened to me. I tried to log in, but the number on my account had been changed. Support has simply said to create a new account... But what about my holdings and bank account connection?
My coinbase account was hacked, phone number changed (2FA). It has my bank account hooked to it... Their resolution so far was to simply create a new account...
