I wonder if thats why tons of chines are buying houses in the US and Canada since they know that China house bubble has actually burst and they need to move their money elsewhere. They know it's a timebomb, the news will someday come out, but hey that house you bought in Canada still got value, as it'll take time for those markets to correct, but if you've got the Jump you can sell it.
This says learning and studying takes 70 hours a week so perhaps its not working for 70 hours a week, but there's a strong learning component which could be done outside of the job. Working as an ML Engineer there's a good bit of learning outside of the job and reading up on the latest papers which can take a lot of time outside of work.
You do realize that you are asking the SEC to create a class of "Special investors" that would have special rules. This is a horrible and undemocratic idea.
Product management is an interesting position and will depend a lot on what kind of authority you possess. In certain cases you will incredible authority, while other times you have no actual power and are just an overseer over a given group of people who has to report to higher ups. Overall, project management is a people job, the people you manage and your relationship with them will determine your success. Its good to have a technical know how in PM, but if your people skills are not up to par your going to have an incredibly difficult job, especially the less formal authority you have.
I feel that Im in a similar boat, the advice in this thread has been helpful to me. What Im starting to realize is that its better to focus on a particular field, such as mathematical analysis, or network security. This way you have a skill in a particular field.
At this point there is no easy fix and an international market calamity is unavoidable. The only thing to do is to minimize the damage and make sure that creditors won't freak out. Markets will take a dip regardless of what happens because Greece has gotten to a point that the ECB did not want Greece to get to. The actual ideal solution depends on what is to prioritized. If Greece's economic growth is to be prioritized the solution will be to actually forgive portions of the debt and screw over the investors. This will help the Greek economy, but it will piss off investors who will be much less likely to invest in Greece or the EU in the future which is why this scenario is just out. If repayment is the priority and keeping creditors happy, the ECB will have to pony up more cash for Greece, and Greece will have to find a way to get its finances under control which is a difficult task. The difficulties lie in two areas for Greece. The first is that a vast percentage of the population in Greece is employed by the government and as such the #1 employer will have to cut back which is going to cause problems for Greece who has no strong industry but a very strong currency. The second problem Greece has is that it has a culture of tax evasion. Greeks don't feel that it is their duty to pay taxes, as a matter of fact there is a strong culture of avoiding ones taxes. This means that Greece will have to find a way to insure it gets its revenue, even while its population does worse off. At the end of the day, Greece shouldn't have been given the money it was asking for, but we are well past that point.
I agree with romanlevin, perhaps this isn't fatigue. Are you certain that you don't have depression? All of the symptoms you are describing can certainly point to it.
Remember that you could also charge them a changing fee if they suddenly want to change the UI, and since your a contractor thats money they'd have to pony up extra. If your fulltime, they would feel like they could pressure you into doing it quickly
Don't take the job, if this is their negotiation strategy imagine what they will do once you are employed. This clearly shows how they intend to operate.
Your reply really helped. I asked because Im in a position where the company is 4 years old, they got initial traction. At this point they want to pivot though, but the current code base does not allow for that because it cannot support the new features.
100% disagree I have worked with co-workers who took a lot of adderall due to tolerance and they had to be terminated because they had meth like rageouts. Don't kid yourself, Adderall is an amphetamine just like meth is.
Get out of the business of being a CTO if you don't know technology. A CTO knows what the tech does and how to code, they are super technical. You could be a CEO or a CMO instead without being technical. CTO with no technical experience is a train wreck in progress.
