Same thing happened with trucks and the auto market in general as well, There is more profit margins in bigger stuff so thats what companies focus on making and stop making the low end rendering everything unafforadable. Also the cheap base models went from majority to mostly nonexistant.

What if they said that after planting false trails or setting up people to spefically cause purges. Witchhunts tend to be a good time for the intel guys to set up people with just rumors and whispers with far less blowback than trying to assassinate them.

Kind of my concern as well, maybe banning them from buying used housing but no restrictions on them owning new housing so that the money is even more focused on acting as a prime originator for new housing allowing it to trickle down later.

Also give like a 10 year or something proptery tax reduction for new construction also increase homestead exemptions to help homeowners but with increased proptery taxes to also encourge them to sell off and not rent housing after the intial honeymoon period.

Also would encourge them to purchase demolish and rebuild older housing and ruined housing so they could invest in it healing some of the older rundown areas.

Well 20 years ago the US drinking culture and driving culture made car accidents a main driver especially in distorting the lower age demograpics. But in the past few years opiods is basically the top cause of death of adults before 45 which then is mostly heart disease. So the recent drop is almost entirely opiods. https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/16umz...

The problem is higher than zero intrest rates the free money dried up where before all the platforms were chasing infinte growth and free money meant they could run deficts as long as they grew they now need to make a profit now that debt costs money plus investor cash got sucked away to Bonds, CDs, and money market accounts giving a safe 5-7%. This is why every service went to shit at the same time in the past year.

Ironically this is almost entirely due to US enviromental regulations punishing smaller more effeciant vehicles. The standards force larger gas guzzlers becuase the MPG limits are based on ft2 size of the chassis therefore you have to make them large to meet standards.

You can't find small trucks anymore due to CAFE standards as automakers upsize trucks in order to lower MPG requirements. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_average_fuel_economy There is alot of small light duty that the US is missing compared to the rest of the world due to how the standards work.

For example a small pick up truck like an S10 would need 50+mpg but add 20 ft2 to increase it to the size of the standard american trucks you see it mpg requirement becomes 32mpg. Hence why trucks like the S10 has completely vanished. Mind you the automakers lobby for this becuase it prevent affordable truck from being sold forcing only the high profit large gas guzzler trucks as the only option.

I grew up Rural and farmed with my grandfather, eventually had to move to a city and hated it ever since. I dont know how people can live in urban and suburban areas willingly. I miss the greenery, the wild animals and planting random shit in the yard to see what grows. I miss having no HOAs and just doing what I want in my yard. Ironically the only thing I liked about las vegas was going out into the mountians and relaxing/hiking/camping in the forests to remind me of home. Concrete crowds and asphalt for some reason kills my motivation to do anything after work.

The bigger problem is the plan was basically infinte growth and was only possible due to 0% intrest rates. The last 15 years has been a weird fever dream of free money, now that intrest is a thing again suddenly the infinte spending expansion and figure out profitablity later model is no longer sustianable and reddit twitter google meta ect suddenly have to actually make money again. Basically the internet everyone has been used to for 15 years is dead as the reality of debt suddenly resumes. Expect things to keep getting worse or revert to the old version of the internet of scattered low power sites and forums. Frankly only microsoft is really the only one that has a somewhat sustianable model for an intrest rate enviroment.
