Not going to argue my point or bring up any real evidence because this guy didn't either, but Hunter Gatherers absolutely lived better lives than we do now and the amount of human beings who die to homocide or suicide is higher now than during that time period. This time period is hell, just look at suicide rates and mental illness rates. No other point in human existence has our life held as little meaning as it does now. And our biggest killer in the West happens to be a disease that has some of the worst comorbidites. Most people in the west are living their life in a inflammation, sleep deprived, vitamin defficient, hormonally disrupted brain fog.
I also don't think people realize how the suffering of lack of pleasure and of short excruciating pain like being eaten, is infinitely better than a lifetime of stress, deppression, and nihilism. Slavery to pleasure is the worst hell, and most of us are enslaved in one way or another.
p.s. False positivity doesn't do shit for your brain, it can actually cause harm. Even if it could do something good, you are basically just brainwashing yourself to have a less truthful understanding of the world. Joy is self-evident for Joyful people and doesn't require deceiptful mantras.
The author criticizes Trump heavily, but then starts to support traditional media under the guise of journalism. The overwhelming majority of major news networks in this country are for profit and bloated by corporate greed. Don't get it twisted, traditional media should not be trusted, neither should Trump. The enemy of your enemy is not always your friend, and the media is picking this battle carefully so as to rake in more clicks and profit.
I am getting disgusted by how the left is becoming more and more friendly to corporations and traditional media in the wake of Trump. A corporation can never be woke or virtuous. A corporate entity supporting lgbtq rights or diversity is the same as when Hitler supported animal rights or labour standards; Hitler is still evil, and so are corporations.
Just cap campaign budget at a certain amount, and require a complete audit of politicians their families so they can not be influenced by outside parties.
Also, I think that people with more money should have more of an influence in this country. Not a big difference, but rich people frankly matter more. They have more money, and pay more taxes (or they should).
In reality I highly doubt that campaign funds have that big of an impact on who wins the election, simply because Hillary Clinton spent significantly more money than Donald Trump and still lost. In addition, Hillary Clinton spent an enormous amount more money than Bernie Sanders, and Bernie gave her a run for her money.
Tbh, Stanley Kubrick is vastly overrated. Yes every one of his movies has great cinemotography, and is technically excellent, but many of his movies are not excellent as movies. Eyes Wide Shut, full metal jacket, and the shining are not 10/10 movies, and David Fincher, Harmony Korine, Charlie Kaifman have all created movies better than all those movies listed. The problem with Stanley Lubrick is because he has a style that is very attractive to viewers, and his movies are very accesible also, he gets massively overrated by a lot of casual film watchers, which is fine so are a lot of directors, but his hype has leaked even to actual film critics with years of experience. It also doesn't help that movies like Room 237 come out that jack of Stanley Kubrick and draw meaning out of things that had no meaning. Sad that people glorify Kubrick but don't even know who Charlir Kaufman or Harmony Korine are, even though both directors have created movies that are just as good as a lot of Kubricks films.
The ceo of intel was fired because it was one of his employees and it is specifically against compaby policy, not because he was cheating on his wife by comitting the act.
If this had an actual impact on the election you would see one side push for changing the day as a strategy if they are more popular in the poorer populations than their opponent. Republicans would definitely want this more now considering Donald Trump's voter base was mostly lower income people. Same could be said for Barack Obama during 2014.
