Just today I wanted to add to my nvim setup some validation for Kubernetes YAML. Asked Claude why it wasn’t looking at schemas correctly. After 30 minutes of prompts and nudges, during which it went on multiple wild goose chases, I just gave up and did it myself.
Other times I did have more success but it’s not rare to encounter this infinite loop style drill-down, which ultimately wastes more time than if I did it myself from the beginning.
In Romania it's so bad that there are companies who will handle everything for you, even if technically the chamber of commerce has a digital interface as well. Everything is handled online and you get digitally signed papers in a reasonable amount of time.
This is probably the solution, an EU-wide company that has local offshoots and can handle the bureaucracy for a fee.
The exact same thing happened to me. I chopped off a good half a cm with an axe when splitting firewood about 5 years ago. After no less than 6 months there wasn’t any sign of the mutilation.
The flip side of this is the "high performer" who is constantly refactoring legacy code because they can only understand code that they wrote. And then add overly DRY refactors all over the place that is a pain to then make specific again.
But this doesn't just show that Anthropic is bad news, but essentially that every US based LLM provider is as well. This current administration is making completely random, wild decisions with entirely opaque reasoning.
Yes, this is the main point, employees will have less and less leverage (I'm even seeing AI doing interviews now, good luck). Soon we'll be explaining to an AI why we aren't as productive as two weeks ago.
HN has had a hate boner for K8s for as long as I can remember.
In my experience, K8s is a million times better than legacy shit it is usually replacing. The Herokus, the Ansible soup, the Chef/Puppet soup before that etc. The legacy infra that was held together by glue and sweat that everybody was afraid to touch.
To be perfectly honest, the seedbox provider had all of these installed and hooked into each other. I only had to add my various logins and configure some profiles. I would think most seedboxes offer a variation of this, so you’re not starting from scratch.
I cancelled all my streaming, and replaced it with a €20 seed box w/ Plex + radarr/sonarr etc. Have everything I want (and nothing else) and movies/shows don't get pulled without me doing it. Won't be turning back anytime soon.
Physical still has the downside of needing space. I have space for books, but not much else.
Thanks for this comment, I've applied a couple of times through WF and the results were the same (not as many times as you did but still). However, I did find a couple of companies through WF but then contacted a recruiter on Linkedin and that did lead to a call or two. YMMV.
