But the basics are we're using Meshtastic as a base to run a decentralized lightweight alternative internet that's run by the people using it. I've managed to squeeze a lot of juice out of one of the compatible esp32 boards so that for $15+ (what the board costs from Lilygo) an sd card you can run a web server on the board as well.
As someone who has been censored and who has watched my friends be censored for being trans people and talking about it we are most certainly not "free to publish whatever".
Not everyone's standing by I've been working on hardened long range communications for cheap so the people that need it can have it. But thats just me, there's tons of people fighting back but those stories don't tend to make the news because it spits in the face of the prevailing narrative that people want this.
Really feel for the author. My parents intentionally threw up obstacles to my learning because they assumed they knew what was best for me even as they actively rejected people trying to help me. As a result I fell years behind where I should have been and had to catch up quick though it was easy to do so when I was no longer under their control.
Helix is amazing and so portable, I switched entirely off graphical ides to it when I started needing to do dev from multiple machines and couldn't keep my files synced on the dev server with any of the graphical ides and after I tried neovim for a couple weeks and found it difficult to maintain. Now I just mosh to the machine > source my venv when necessary > hx
That + other data can be used to build a behavorial profile so it's not what your ISP is doing necessarily but what the people they sell the data to are doing with it (or the people they sell to)
I've been thinking about adopting Godot for just this purpose, mainly just hung up on community language support for Python which seems unfortunately stalled
