I want to share a project I've been working on. slickbit, the social code snippet manager
Features
- Cloud storage
- Private snippets
- Unlisted snippets
- Snippet history
- Collections
- Full text search
- More stuff coming!
Why another code snippet manager?
When looking for a code snippet manager, I found many of them to be too expensive (~$100/year) or lacking the features I wanted like strong social and sharing features. I hope slickbit can become a place where we can focus solutions instead of problems while preserving public discourse and feedback.
Where do I sign up?
Visit https://slickb.it to sign up and give it a test drive. Its 100% free to sign up, no card required. As an incentive, the first 25 users will get a free premium account. Thanks for checking it out!
Good question! No, using Pigeon SMS does not require porting the number. We’ve partnered with upstream carriers to add sms while leaving the voice component intact.
Hi HN! I made Pigeon SMS to help businesses reach more customers how they want to be reached. You can add text messaging to virtually any landline in ~5 mins with our fully automated signup. You then get awesome features like:
- Two way sms
- Groups
- Keywords
- Auto responders
- Templates
- Scheduled messages
- Website widget
- Geo based message
- Webhooks
- Lots of other cool stuff
Check out our site. I would love feedback on our landing page and video. I’ll keep an eye on the thread for any questions :)
If you're a developer interested in Elixir, check out https://elixirforum.com. It is such an inclusive community and I find most people on there to be quite genuine!
BEAM is amazing. The scaling is insane. I built a business texting platform using it (https://pigeonsms.com).
As we brought on our first few customers I kept expecting we would need to increase our hosting capacity. Here we are 2 years later and we are still running the whole thing with our initial hosting setup.
Very nice! I posted on the other thread about pigeonsms.com. It’s built 100% in Elixir with Phoenix framework.
If you’re ever looking for a collab or another content creator for elixir courses it’s something I’ve been thinking of getting in to. HMU if you want to do something like that.
I co-founded Pigeon SMS (https://pigeonsms.com) with my dad just a couple of years ago and we reached profitability just a few months after founding.
We provide business texting services to businesses of all sizes. Some of our customers include a city, vet clinic, glass shop, screen printing firm, boutique retailers, and on and on. Really any business can benefit from adding texting to their communications.
My advice: Pick something that will keep you interested and motivated to come back to when life gets busy.
