The thing that's the worst about this is the sheer arrogance of the Firefox dev team. I noticed it acutely a few months(?) ago when they introduced the update that inexplicably makes the address bar grow in size when you focus on it.
The disturbing bit wasn't "we're making this dumb change the new default", it was "we are also not making a way to turn this off and literally do not care if this bothers you, we know better than you so just accept it".
