I say the same as I never really turned up to University, however I knew I wanted to be a programmer afterwards and people wouldn't speak to me without that Degree...

Seeing a city like that was so refreshing, it must be nice to live somewhere your attention isn't constantly pulled here and there, and where a sense of want is re-enforced every time you lift your head.
I can't see anything without signing up? How as a user should I know whether it's worth signing up for ? Or indeed what I am signing up for. A simple 'About' or 'Features' section is much needed IMHO.
Aside from this, once you're in it looks awesome. Like someone added all the great features that a project manager would want added to trello!

Look up RSD Tyler on YouTube. On the surface it can seem deeply insincere and shallow but I believe some of techniques taught they can be applied in all areas of life when interacting with people.
Always go for the highest they offer. E.g. If you apply for a job 25,000 - 35,000 go for 35k. My thinking behind this is that it shows you're confident in your ability. Remember a lot of companies are big enough to incur an extra 5k of salary in order to get the very best candidate.
I'd say the above becomes more true the bigger the company gets... Small companies <10 employees this theory could well breakdown.
Yeah pay someone to add a filter. I'm thinking simply grab the html from each HN link, perform some search against a Bitcoin word/phrase dictionary, if it's a match then hide that link.
If this did cause a brain drain then this would likely force other industries to raise salaries in order to compete; and so continues the circle of life.

This was my initial thought. Then I realised whatever sensors are on-board these things would likely detect incoming pirate attacks (of the physical kind) from miles away (think satellites). At which point nearby naval forces would be alerted.
Hell, you could go a step further and equip each one with it's own drone to defend itself in case of attack.
