That's definitely a thing. Very popular over here. The format is normally that you do a crash course over 2-3 months, and then do a year's on-the-job training as an apprentice.

I agree with this. It confirms that most "digital" devices like this (for example, scales) are just introducing greater inaccuracy whilst conveying a false sense of certainty.

Did they assess this list for GDPR and harassment law in the UK? IANAL, but if I was naming and shaming in this way via a derived data set, I'd be scared of getting into quite a lot of trouble with the law.

I think the point he's trying to make is that even with a selection of highly "en vogue" PaaS and frameworks, you still run up against basic problems in Computer Science, and that all the fancy frameworks can actually obfuscate the source of the problem. The sentiment seems to be "perhaps you could have done this with basic tools and not made the error, rather than using something trendy".

And millenial ~= trendy.
