I can attest to this as I have a youtube channel that deals with some controversial and sensitive topics like pushing for reformation of Islam, secularism and alternative spirituality and my channel was decimated by youtube's decision to cut advertising revenues to the channel.
I also failed to raise enough funds from Patreon to support the channel and therefore my cultural initiative is totally dead for now.
Shame because I thought that this work is important in these turbulent times.
