I don't know where you get the impression that in East Asia most people think alike, though I won't call it microaggression but rather self-centered cluelessness. Agree with your other points though.
A year ago customers were complaning that their accounts were accounted despite using an unique password to DoorDash. DoorDash at that time denied any hacking incidents.
A more sinister explanation is that DoorDash knew back then who is leaking their data and removed their access. But chose to disclose only just now.
Genuine question, can you elaborate on why you feel that such cycles are nonsensical? Cuz for me I just think that the celeb "paid their dues" by not receiving compensation/exposure for some time (like a prison sentence in the public eye), and if the misendeavor is minor enough they can be reaccepted.
