People have no issues heating their house during colder months, but cooling them during warmer months... No they can't do that, that's bad for the environment. Both require energy to change the temperature a certain number of degrees, they're not any different.
Watch out with scrubbing sponges though. Assuming it's one of those sponges that has a rough and a smooth side, sometimes the rough side contains abrasives (sand?) that will leave marks on stainless steel!
Cleaning is not always super easy. I have come across plenty of situations where hot water and detergent take ages. Steel wool on the other hand gets rid of everything very fast.
It bothers me that I can split a log in 3 parallel pieces, rotate 90 degrees and then magically can split the middle piece. That's physically difficult!

Your suggestion would completely kill e-bikes, I don't think that is a good idea. Above a certain speed limit they should need to ride on the regular road though.
On a regular e-bike you don't get up to 25km/h without putting in the effort. If their mental capacities are that far gone, they won't be able to go that fast anyway. They'll top out at 20km/h or something.
