A quick search seems to confirm this. A few sites list the number to be around ~1.3 billion people who speak English at all, with around ~360-380 million being native speakers. For example: https://www.babbel.com/en/magazine/how-many-people-speak-eng....

Spaces make the operator invalid, so it’s not actually filtering by date in that case: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/2466433?hl=en

“ To narrow your results in specific ways, you can use special operators in your search. Do not put spaces between the operator and your search term.”

For those unaware, "2nm" is marketing-speak. The actual physical dimensions are 45nm gate pitch and 20nm tightest metal pitch for 2nm.

Correct, this example is also in the JEP:

  String name = "Joan";
  String info = "My name is \{name}";
  | error: processor missing from template expression

Edit: This comment was written when the original comment was just "Would it hurt them to use ${x} instead of \{x}?"

This is covered in the article under "Alternatives", in the section beginning with:

> For embedded expressions in string templates, we considered adopting the ${...} syntax from the Java EE Expression Language (EL) rather than \{...}. However, this would force developers to escape every $ sign in the literal text of a string template while continuing to write $ without escapes in string literals and text blocks. This inconsistency could all too easily lead to errors.

...

> With the syntax we have chosen, frameworks can ease migration by providing a template processor that understands EL syntax. Developers can continue using ${...} while also having access to the Java environment via \{...}:

Like others in the thread, I also experienced this recently in NYC. It’s amazing how incredibly quick the system is too. You place the items in the bin at the same time, and by the time you look up at the screen the price is already waiting for you to confirm and proceed to payment.

One of the first times I’ve felt delight shopping in person in years.

DAU is still ~24 million so while dropping by half is a steep decline, it’s still pretty good.

I’m more curious to see this number in 6 months.

The theoretical limit of WiFi 6E is 2,500Mbps: https://www.highspeedinternet.com/resources/wi-fi-6-vs-wifi-...

This would be nearly 4X that.

Am I correct that this would require direct line-of-sight for any device using an antenna[0] enabling this? It seems a bit impractical for your typical consumer use-cases if so, but maybe beneficial for some more commercial scenarios.

Would love to know if I am wrong here though! It seems very interesting.

“Don’t mistake technical knowledge for intelligence (don’t be an asshole)”

Pretty obvious to state, but this is generally a good thing to live by in and out of the office.
