Except that there is no standard of a "scientific notebook". It's not a form one fills out. It is notes taken during experimentation. Data analysis generally takes place outside of a scientific notebook, which simply contains raw data and observations, the completeness of which is up to the experimenter. Notebooks contain proprietary, private data, owned by the organization overseeing the research. They have no incentive to publish their "unpublished" results that have been expensive to produce.
There is no easy solution.
A lot of people like to treat "science" as this unassailable "truth", but science is political. It is subject to bias and it is corruptible. Results are skewed; inconsistent results are discarded. "Science" is incentivized to produce results consistent with the desire of those who finance it. This is not a "China" problem by any stretch.
The destruction of the middle east is an Israeli agenda. Thinking that the US government and its media apparatus gave us all the facts of 9/11 is a poor read of the situation. The official story is a farce. The entire explanation is absurd.
It amazes me that people make statements like this without exercising any critical thought on whether it's true or verifiable. OP's car probably tells Toyota how much OP weighs, instantaneous speed, how hard OP pushes the brakes, favorite radio stations, turn signal usage, headlight usage, every on-screen computer action, seatbelt usage, gas level, current location, and identity of all other Toyotas in the vicinity (and more: use your imagination). The car has (presumably) cameras and (clearly) microphone(s) and bluetooth/wifi. But OP has it on faith that Toyota respects OP's privacy, because...
So you have faith that the government operates within the confines of the laws that it makes for itself, and faith that google is not sharing its data with government agencies or that google has not been infiltrated by government assets, and you have faith that google strips the PII from your data, and faith that when you tell google you want to opt out that they opt you out, and faith that when you want to delete something, google deletes it for you. If everyone simply plays by the rules, then there's nothing to worry about.
The very "experts" who are plugged in and implementing/promoting the IoT are themselves under a form of mass hypnosis. Look how hard they work! For what? Progress! Money! They are taught to obey. If they do not, there will be consequences.
We are entering an age of mass disinformation propagated by the controllers to obscure their agenda and remap people's minds. The only difference is that now our propaganda is 24/7 broadcasting from our pants pocket. They wish to destroy our ability to discern right from wrong, and they seem to be succeeding.
One can only hope that as a human species we can muster some shred of critical thought amidst this onslaught. Perhaps one day we can stand up and see things for what they are, because unfortunately, we are running out of time.
Words have power though. They can change minds and foment revolutions. Disaster is not the only way (and disasters almost always benefit the controllers). We can elevate ourselves through language; most everything we've ever known is codified in language. Never stop speaking your mind, especially to the blind, narrow-minded yes-men that surround you. They, too, can change.
