I'm building https://rewindly.app, a tool which records the screen for 15s to 1h (configurable) and allows you to view your recent activity. It's basically instant replay for PC activity.
It’s funny because, ever since Norbert Wiener’s Cybernetics was published in 1948, we’ve been trying to replicate how the human brain works. In that sense, we’ve been building increasingly powerful machines that mimic human thought. And now, the most interesting thing is something that turns that idea on its head: LLMs think in reverse.
One could implement this at browser account level or even at OS-level, but no, let's just ask all the websites to implement a new service for ID check. Or let's ask all the websites to spam users with the never-read cookie usage request.
Because it's disrupting the entire online field by flooding real activity fields (jobs, knowledge communities, etc.) with newcomers who are now able to give the impression of knowing something when they don't.
It's exhausting to find a job, it's annoying to have to parse through a plethora of AI generated content for real knowledge, it's becoming increasingly frustrating to build something when people assume you've made it using AI tools, and it's very annoying to see the only things that popup to be stuff like: AI tools listing directories, agentic this and that, AI detectors, AI creators, AI tools created to handle other AI tools, and so on.
I've built an app which constantly records your screen, audio and/or microphone (never leaving your machine) so you can instantly replay what happened.
Use cases:
- something appears on the screen and you don't pay attention, then it disappears (app secrets shown one time, temp notifications, etc);
- you want to remember what you've done n seconds ago;
- you want to review your recent activity;
- you have memory problems and are always wondering if you took a specific actions.
