I deleted all my social media 5 months ago, and I feel amazing. I didn't think I would be able to do it, but after all this time without it, I almost forget that Instagram and Snapchat are a thing. I no longer see the selfies of people who bullied me in high school every day. I no longer feel like every experience and accomplishment needs to be milked to boost my reputation to my peers via social media. It's so freeing. And the amount of extra free time I have now is great too
as a computer science student i am slightly concerned but I also don't think that it would necessarily be possible for AI as it currently exists to be able to complete software engineering tasks with the required level of specification/efficiency. But maybe in 10 or 20 years.... ? who knows what the landscape will be like
the sheer power that AI has now and the likelihood that it will continue to advance has made me slightly concerned about how it will end up affecting the job market. If AI ends up being able to generate readable novels, or functional code, or otherwise, it could have a serious ripple effect
