People working in this profession seem to only care about AWS, GCP and Azure these days. I think it's pretty important to know about some of the other smaller fish as mentioned in this post.
I doubt they would notice any change in or towards the company and or culture regardless of any change that did happen. Therefore they wouldn't potentially have any reason to change, other than pure bias. The problem with changing though is that it needs to go through so many people to finally actually get to the production system, surely there would be some whistle blower around to get a nice PR on this one should it ever happen?
It's basically a safer way to write javascript code.
The browser/interpreter will complain a lot more when the code runs.
Similar to how a js linter would moan.
They're only using Launchpad because it's a Canonical product and the way they always do distribution of this kind. I too would agree in your choice of Github as it tends to be more developer centric in it's social tools. I think it will get picked up more if it's there..
