Unrelated, but you just reminded me of an old blog: Groklaw. I can't believe it's been over 10 years since it was active

It's interesting to see them go after others for copying gameplay when they have done exactly the same: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2023/jun/15/connections-ne...

What is echonewshub? Is this a reputable source? Their Privacy Policy seems incomplete and the T&C pages seems to have been generated by GPT

Daniel Rensch and others have said that Magnus has not seen chesscom cheating algorithms or lists. It had been a rumor in the chess world for a while that Hans has cheated before

I'm not sure what you're suggesting. This is the comment:

> FIRE has done way more for campus free speech issues this last decade or two ...

> You mean conservative speech? Or has FIRE actually defended speech they despised, like the ACLU used to?

It seems to imply that FIRE has done way more for conservative campus free speech issues. I supplied examples of times when FIRE supported non-conservative campus free speech. I'm not quite clear how else to read that comment, but would love your take.

I'm not sure why you're implying that FIRE "despises" speech; perhaps you see them as conservative. That said, here's are some recent situations in which FIRE has taken the side of what would be under the general progressive/liberal umbrella:

* https://www.thefire.org/cases/catholic-university-of-america...

There are more, for sure, but hopefully this points you in the right direction.

Thanks for sharing. One thing caught my eye in that report. It says that 57% of Black and 61% of Hispanic respondents claim to have been fully vaccinated. The totals across 40 states in the US are 36% and 41% respectively [1]:

> Less than half of Black and Hispanic people have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose in nearly all states reporting data, including a number of states where less than a third have received a vaccine

I'm aware that polls have a skew, but I can't figure out how those numbers are so different, especially since the latter numbers are about people who have received at least one dose, not the full dose.

This happened last year. The Australian Broadcasting Corp (ABC) hosted a discussion about this[1]

I don't find this so convincing.

Most normal usera may not be able to secure things effectively and they can still use the existing iCloud / Google Play infrastructure. That doesn't mean that other users, who want to manage their own data for one reason or another, shouldn't get the opportunity.

It's far more likely that building and maintaining this feature is not worth the development time for Apple and Google product teams at this point, since the possible market is small

No, the government did not remove the extradition law until September 2019, after proposing it in February 2019.

By then, many Hong Kongers had been protesting, arrested, beaten and worse. The reason we Hong Kongers did not and have not stopped is because there has been no justice for them.

That's the principle behind 5 demands, not 1 less.
