i think they got greedy with the app store. it _used_ to be "customer experience", now it is "MOOONEEEYYYYYY!!!!!!!!".

see how they reacted to the EU regulation requirements. they just want to keep competition out at every imaginable cost. sensible, from a business perspective, yet from a _users_ perspective not the most agreeable move. i want to have devices again which i actually _own_, not devices i'm "allowed to use" as long as they don't cancel my account.

apple is also fanatic about battery life. it's just that the "phone" is no longer a phone, it's a mini-computer which by accident also does audio connections over a certain wireless technology ...

out of curiosity, question from someone who has never ever done frontend.

to me, ember js seemed to be a good alternative a while back, and what i read about their approach seemed very reasonable. but no one ever talks about it, basically ever.

is it just that niche or simply no longer relevant? the community on the page seems to deliver quite happily ...

we need people like stallman and organisations like GNU, EFF & co. desperately.

their goals might not be reachable, cause reality is rarely pure, but to me it's a principal necessity.

why? it's the counter weight to the microsoft of the late 90s and early 2000s. profit above all, we will try to get you, bind you and squeeze you with everything we can use - and more. GNU is the natural mirror perspective, which is needed for - balance.

and if we get a "more GNU" world ... i personally would think that is a good thing.
