stupidest response. There are tons of gov waste that's 100 times more expensive, less effective without any returns. Wars are lot more expensive, net negative for common folks (positive for war machinery though..) And out of all this, you would steal money from research and put it to put food on table? :(

Anthropic subsidizes the fees when devs use their API within their own Claude code product. They do not give any such discount when the devs use their API outside their product. Seems fair enough. But looks like lots of developers expect the subsidy even when used outside their core product. Not fair, I guess.

In the end, a business gets to decide how and when to strategically subsidize their users.

They do not monetize but may do probably something worse, infotize or narratize (just invented words). By using an almost neutral, altruistic platform to subtly control/constrain the narratives on certain tech overlords. As much as I love HN, I do not agree with their reasoning to flag some of the posts that are negative to the tech elites.

when I saw 18F, CISA, USDS were targeted by DOGE, everything was clear. They were just cutting all the good muscle and leaving the bad fat :(

I thought HN crowd is smarter than average crowd, but surprised to see so many folks supporting this fraud. If they sold just "note taking service" then it does not matter what they do behind the scene or how they scale up the service, manual or automated. But if they sold "AI-enabled" note taking service, then it's a clear fraud. Nothing different from Trevor Milton rolling the trucks from hills.

One of the big issues that I have with Pixel phones is the large file size for the videos. Even a 5 minute video runs into 300MB-400MB file. I disabled HDR, reduced resolution but nothing helps. Has anyone else seen this issue and found a way to reduce the video file size?
