Nonsense.

Apu is on the whole a very positive stereotype - a successful and responsible small business owner who's respected by his and contributes to his community.

Compare him to someone like Cletus who is a negative stereotype of white Southerners, portrayed as an extremely low IQ ignoramus. Or Kyle's cousin in South Park who's a negative stereotype of a Jew, portrayed as a hypersensitive money-grubber. And so on.

Your injury is nothing more than an imagined grievance.

"This is why Asians don't like"

Speak for yourself. You aren't a spokesperson for South Asians, and not all of them are on the same wokeness bandwagon.

Nonsense.

If I'm moving from the UK to the US, and someone else is moving from the US to the UK, then I really need USD and that person really needs GBP.

We can then trade USD for GBP and both be better off as a result.

The transaction was demonstrably positive sum in utility terms.

> over the top affirmation

What does this entail, do you mind giving an example?

Someone should build a scihub/libgen that contains an exhaustive catalogue of books cancelled by Amazon/Ebay/schools/etc.

Not that we can't already find these books online, but it'd be nice to have a centralized repo with just those.

He has typically Irish middle names and has a Boston accent, so it's implied.

The speed is part of the point. What better way to signal that you're part of the woke agenda than to be one of the first movers only a few days after the publisher made their announcement? It's like all the sycophants tripping over themselves to be the first to compliment their dear leader.

The problem here are the bullies, not the show.

South Park, Simpsons, Family Guy and all the greats are packed full of racially-adventurous humour and that's part of what makes these shows great. Scottish, British, Indian, Japanese, Jewish, Muslim and virtually everyone is picked on.

They're equal opportunity offenders.

If you don't like it, that's your prerogative, but don't force your preferences on the rest of us.

That seems like confirmation bias. The book was published before WW2, and the white people in that picture look just as ridiculous and caricatured as the Asian, with dots for eyes and absurd costumes and postures.

As someone with an Asian background, it's not offensive at all, and I can't think of an Asian person who would find it offensive.

This is just cancel culture playing out. Weak, risk-averse executives cowardly bending the knee to a small group of malicious, narcissistic activists.

This reminds me of the "What is the problem with Apu?" fiasco. No Indian I knew cared, but a small number of sociopathic activists forced the hands of the cowards in charge.

Thanks. Any ideas how storage impacts the total cost of using only solar+wind?

I'll put aside your rudeness (I assume you think this is a status contest, or maybe you've just misunderstood my intentions) and try to explain again.

Solar being cheaper than nuclear makes it a foregone conclusion for daytime electricity supply.

However the direct comparison you were making in the first paragraph of your original post between nuclear price and solar price is nonsensical because they're not in direct competition with each other. Nuclear satisfies a slightly different use case to solar.

Nuclear instead is in direct competition with sources that are capable of providing base load power such as gas and solar+storage. The only meaningful price comparison is between nuclear and these other sources, since we need to decide if the stack is going to be solar+storage, solar+nuclear, etc.

Comparing solar prices directly to nuclear prices without considering the whole stack is just a meaningless comparison.

Still doesn't make sense. Even if what you say is true, then the valid comparison is to compare nuclear to wind rather than nuclear to solar.

Solar doesn't provide off peak power without storage. So comparing nuclear directly to solar in the way you've done makes no sense.

Isn't the point of nuclear to provide power when it's not sunny as a cheaper alternative to storage in batteries? If so then what's the purpose of comparing the cost of solar and nuclear as if they're directly competing for the same use case?
