I switched to Dvorak years ago and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. It has downsides (awkwardness when typing on others' machines, difficulty typing with one hand while on the phone), but the lack of pain in my hands/wrists is worth it many times over.
They really aren't. Java enums are somewhat unique in that they are full-fledged classes, not just glorified constants. TS enums are much closer to those of C#.
I experience something very similar. It turned out to be at least in part from eye strain induced headaches ("computer vision syndrome"). I started paying more attention to ocular health, including following the recommendation of a comment here [0] and lowering screen brightness. It does seem to be helping.

I do this, but not mainly to find bugs, though on rare occasions I do. I almost always find something, e.g. stylistic aberrations, overzealous changes from an intellij refactor, debug statements I forgot to remove, part of another change I'd thought I'd stashed but somehow ended up in the commit. It blows my mind that anybody would not read their diffs.

Slightly off topic, but I think doing this could actually be useful for learning languages, especially highly inflected ones (if you extend the color coding to account for gender, case, etc.).
Because gut issues have been implicated in a whole lot of common maladies, but the precise nature of the interactions of gut bacteria and their human hosts has yet to be determined, making it very intellectually intriguing. Especially for those of us with chronic conditions that are finally starting to see treatment success with carefully targeted probiotics or fecal transplants.

I made absolutely no claim that my experience provided any sort of scientific evidence for the efficacy of antidepressants. I merely stated that if you're on antidepressants, and are in remission, you probably shouldn't quit because of some FUD you read on the internet as I, quite stupidly, did.

I'm in complete agreement with you here - the majority of people prescribed SSRIs probably should not have been. I don't even recommend them to other people, despite the fact that they worked incredibly well for me.

It wasn't a mistake. The mental illnesses I suffered started early in childhood, and nearly all my relatives on one side of my family experience some form of it. I resisted medication for a while because I was brought up by parents who considered psych meds to be against the natural order of things, and prohibited me from so much as asking my doctor about them.
In college, the panic attacks had become so severe I was beginning to lose touch with reality. My psychiatrist convinced me to give SSRIs a shot, so I reluctantly agreed, and they turned my life around. Within 6 months, friends and family (both those who knew I was taking a med and those who didn't) remarked that I seemed to be a completely different (and better) person.
Obviously, they don't work this well for most people. But likely the psychiatrist, in the absence of a mature scientific understanding of these disorders, had learned to recognize patterns that predicted a successful response to SSRIs.
My only point was that the discontinuation of an antidepressant should not be taken lightly when you have already had a successful response to it.
