I no longer have SSH listening on the bare internet on my VPS nodes .. I either place spiped in front of the standard daemon or disable it entirely and utilize Tailscale SSH
Makes sense.. the elites have outsourced much of the US manufacturing capacity during the neo-liberalism era.. and one of the major exports that still remain is defense and since capital always needs an avenue to exploit, defense is what it is for the capital giants.

Wonder if drivers were adopted under newer low-level languages (Rust/Zig/Odin/C3/Hare etc..) if that would boost participation rates for newer kernel device driver builders..
One thing on Linux systems I like to do is build ffmpeg statically.. as distro versions are sometimes too old or don't include modules I prefer.. this containerized version has done wonders for me https://github.com/wader/static-ffmpeg
