Over at Blimp(http://getblimp.com) we decided to go with Stripe for our billing. We asked them nicely for a private beta so we could go ahead and start working. We have already implemented them into our app, very simple, never got in the way, and we are launching on October 10, on time, thanks to them. Stripe is pretty awesome!
I've had to deal with all these issues of Merchant accounts, business bank accounts and what not, and it sucks! Its time consuming, expensive, and a pain in the ass.
I've used Recurly for another project I recently launched, and I kinda liked them, thats of course before using Stripe! What sold Stripe to me was their pricing scheme, very simple, no monthly crap. I'm pretty sure startups struggle at first with monthly fees...
Wow, I was definitely looking for something like this yesterday. I was looking for quick freelance work on Forrst, Elance(which is way to annoying to even get started), FreelanceSwitch... All of those(except probably Forrst) have tons of projects which are not that cool and/or require too much time. So Casual Contracting is a great idea, so I just subscribed! Cheers!
Hamza, I can feel your pain man. I'm a full time student but I consider myself also a full time entrepreneur and developer. Juggling between 18 credits, classes two times a week, and working the rest od the time is a pretty stressful thing. I've found out that I probably won't be able to tackle a potentially big startup by myself but that doesn't stop me from giving it a try.
I'm actually excited about this. Version Control at application levels instead of system wide like Time Machine, could be pretty useful to regular users. Don't know about the autosave really. I guess its one thing less to really "care"about...
