Alex Jones, Ron Paul, etc -- with all they 'extreme right wing' views -- why they are on RussiaTV day and night? They are very useful KGB tools. They might be perfectly not aware of the harm they are doing, but that's what so great about KGB. They work and have success thanks to operating well on human element. CIA seems operate on the idea that their success comes from the technology.
I.e. most extreme right wing parties in Europe are sponsored by Russia. Wouldn't be surprised at all to learn the same about US Tea Party. The ideology is great from Russian perspective: don't care about external affairs focus on the economy only. Close all the bases. Yeah, right, so we will wake up one day with Putin's Russia stretching across whole of Europe all the way to Portugal one day. And then what?
Russia/USSR has worked extremely hard to infiltrate US colleges, universities and campuses with Marxism and socialism in the past. They have been doing it continuously since 1945 with great success. Because they knew that after years it will pay back big time. Like it does right now with Marxist President (product of US Universities) not doing anything about growing Russian threat.
Never underestimate Russians intelligence and its influence on our elites.
OK, I agree it all looks kosher, but here is the kicker: compare powers that the EU Parlament has with Bundestag powers. On another note the whole EU seems to be using German solutions that are just not acceptable for Brits or their economy and this is another major issue with the EU. I.e. why not to have anglosaxon model of transparency and democratic process? It's not German, so forget it? Well, here you have exactly why other nations might not like it -- how would you like to be forced using electoral college because US wishes so? You see the same way Brits might not like being forced using secretive German model. It is as strange to them as the electoral college is to you!
Other notes on democracy and the EU:
1. What is that thing with voting over and over again till they get YES, and once they have it there are no referendums in sight for 10, 20, 30 years? I.e. in the UK they voted for Common Markets in 1970s -- and based on that YES vote they ended up in political union with countries like Germany, having open borders for the whole of Eastern Europe for more than a decade. What does a vote casted for common markets in 1970s has to do with having millions of immigratans in 2014 or anti-City regulations imposed; all the green craze? Who thought about this in 1970s? Why it is such a big deal to have democratic process involved for these phenomenons?
2. 70% of laws in the UK are introduced by EU Commission. Whoever Brits vote-in to the offices of London Government or EU Parlament -- doesn't matter. These 70% of laws are introduced yearly without democratic process. Usually by German-name sounding Commissars. Who think about production for Germany first and trade for UK with places like Australia or Canada -- not at all. It would make much more sense for a country like UK to have political union with Australia or Canada. They share language, customs, political solution and the Queen. Germany doesn't share any of these with UK. So, why bother living in the political union with them under their influence?

The EU parliament approval is done in secret. So you can't hold responsible your elected official for supporting someone you wouldn't support. What is the point of having EU Commisars selected in secrecy? What is the point of having EU Commissars elections where there is only one candidate?
Why they can't simply follow standard democratic procedures? Why all the secrecy and elections over one-candidate? What is it? An USSR polit-biuro?
what about the democratic process? The UK politicians are being punished over the UK/US extradition policy. Who in the EU are you going to punish if one day we wake up with TTIP on our backs? Nobody, because there is no democratic process in the EU. Are you going to vote EU Commission out?
The lack of democracy is no.1 problem with the EU. Any person who believes in democracy really can't say I believe in EU at the same time.
The whole article is based on false pretense that fuel prices are highest in the known history. The fuel price have been stagnant for the past 60 years. If you use real money, i.e. gold or silver. Fuel prices, food prices, healthcare cost, etc. are all flat line price chart as long as you use real money. Once you use ever-dropping and hugely inflated USD or EUR, all prices seem to rise. Seem is very important here because in fact they don't rise at all. What happens is that the measure we use - USD - is collapsing in value. It's like saying cars are faster and faster, but every year lowering value of meters in 1 km. I.e. this year 1 km is equal to 1,000 meters, next year it will be equal to 980 meters, and yet next year it will be 950 meters, so on. So in 2024, 1 km can be as little as 760 meters.
A lot of economic news or developments don't make sense unless you understand that we have lived in permanent inflationary times for the past 50 years.

My grandad worked 14 hours+ shifts in 1950s and 1960s in communistic Poland in a steel mill. Anybody who would refuse would end up in jail or even worse - gulag - for treason.
As bad as capitalism is it will never, ever be as bad as communism can be.
Please note that in communistic states people worked regularly over 8 hours long after 8-hours work week was legislated in the USA. My point is that system evolution via democratic process is much better than bloody revolution that left-wing quite often has on its mouth.

So why in Norway they vote extreme right? Here is your dirty secret about Breiviks and Scandinavia: we can pay high taxes as long as it goes to us. But the very second it goes to Muslims, immigrants, etc. we are not socialist anymore. We are more like national socialists ;-) You see scnadinavian socialism seems to work only in national states. Once you have high immigration and you pay for immigrants, nobody wants it anymore. Now get this: in the US 70% of population are immigrants, or their children, or their grand-children. Obviously, you can see why Norwegians don't want to pay high taxes to benefit of immigrants. Why it is so difficult to comprehend that in the US it wouldn't work too?
I appreciate Unions and I strongly believe that capitalism works well only in connection with democracy. Sure if people who just didn't try hard enough at school and end up at bad jobs vote for 6 or even 2-hour day work, let them have it! I don't care, I'm paid per hour I want to put as many hours as possible.
The innovative US economy will make it all irrelevant anyway by introducing more and more work from home jobs. Work from home is almost common in the US and basically non-existent in Europe. I wouldn't trade Swedish 6-hour workday with my American-based 8-hour while working from my coach at home. Somehow socialists are always one step behind Mother Nature, i.e. free markets.
