Lol, the last time NASA built a space plane to do real work in space, it was grossly inefficient than the previous giant dick it replaced, wildly more dangerous, and NASA had to attach it to three other dicks just to get it to space.

It does matter. Soldiers talk about sensitive stuff all the time. You don’t want schedules, personnel, whatever, leaking through inane conversations to people we’re at war with.
My grandfather was similar. Died a millionaire while never making more than $30k/year. He just paid for things in cash and made sure to always invest. The only luxury he ever spent was on my grandmothers car. Everything else was on a budget and cheap as could be.
Your last point seems spot on. The only way to get rid of nazis is to change their minds so they are no longer nazis. It should have been easy to show him that skin color doesn't determine culture or politics and that his actions were going to do nothing but drastically weaken his cause.
I grew up in a town with an air force training base and the students seem to have some oversight from the base housing authority to make sure they aren't doing anything to piss off the locals.
Knowing how base authorities handle off-base housing, I'd say the chances of this are next to zero. I doubt there's a military officer who isn't fully aware that the US's war with the most casualties was the one to end slavery.
