> I never had any experience come close to it since then, and miss competition dearly.

This person hasn't seen competition. Take Starcraft on ICCup for example. CS/DoD where you can rely on others for team games are much easier psychologically than a one-on-one duel where it's just you and nobody else but you to fuck things up.

I'm surprised at the lack of intersectional shitposting when it comes to this subject, something along the lines of "FAANG intern tech bros making $1.5m TC are microdosing on ivermectin for health benefits." Get Wired or some other shit rag (the Altnatic?) to run with it complete with fancy full-viewport animations and gushing narrative intro over how it all started when someone's pitbull decided to take a shit in jeff bezos office.

> If you want to effect change my recommendation is to show up.

I have reservations about this line of thought.

For one, the people at the local city counsel have been showing up for a long time, all over the country in fact. If the actions they took have brought them here, of what use were the actions?

And second, I would like to see some hard evidence that you have in fact effected/enacted change by showing up beyond just being more informed and participating in what can otherwise be (from personal experience) either a snooze-fest or an echo chamber.
