The author said "There are a lot of movies out there, so I ended up setting some guidelines on what to include, the first being no movies past the year 2000."

~6 months is still relatively new in my opinion.

That's unfortunate that they aren't giving you more tasking, especially if you're asking for more. But, without knowing too many details, it probably is just the normal ebb and flow.

My experience is that it can take several months to a year before I get really fully spun up on a new job. A lot of more senior people generally feel that it will take longer to hand off a task to someone new than to do it themselves. So it takes time for them to know and get comfortable with your skills and abilities.

> Is it growing

I'm not sure how to empirically measure incivility but it seems like it might be... There's certainly been an uptick in things from reckless driving to drinking to drug overdoses. There's a lot of anecdata from nurses, airline attendants, teachers, etc. about bad behavior being on the rise.

Maybe it's all just due to the stress of the ongoing pandemic. But, some of the articles below point out that these trends began before the pandemic.

This is an interesting read and I find the author's observations rather relatable. Some of my friends really, really prefer streaming and that's great! But it never quite agreed with me for some of the reasons I think are given here. I often find that there's a tendency to endlessly navigate a streaming service just to find something to watch. Maybe it's an overabundance of choice or maybe its just that algorithms and infinitely scrollable pages are a dark pattern. Blu-rays, CD's, and vinyl make me more particular and emphatic with my choices. I don't put something on just to watch or have background, I usually pick something specifically because I want to watch it.
