will it only bring more "memory safety" or is there a serious performance gain as well?
The project will die in a couple of days or weeks. You're making a mistake if you're seriously consider using this in any capacity.

Having agents is like going from walking to having a bicycle.
To having roller skates at best. And even then - they are probably with hexagonal wheels.

Where do you see "cross-platform"? The readme clearly says it's web:

OpenUI is a full-stack Generative UI framework: a compact streaming-first language, a React runtime with built-in component libraries [...]

This self-promotion is not relevant to the discussion.

Perhaps because the comment didn't add to the discussion? like all those +1 comments in GitHub issues.

the assumption that all code (and everything else producing digital artefacts) will be written using AI in the near future,
This is what AI providers wanted you to believe in because they have a couple of shovels to sell to you. Once you realize that the assumption is delusional, it's no longer hard to reconcile.

Isn’t “Anthropic won’t fix it” a little sensational
It's editorializing and against HN guidelines either way.

Saying they were conned sounds like naming them victims of some trick and moving the responsibility away from them. Nah. It's not conning; it's stupidity and lack of critical thinking.

Nah, I have to agree with andy^andrew.

This is how staged reaction looks like: https://www.residentialsystems.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/0...

The Steam's clip is actually nowhere near like that.

While some people can't afford to have their own place to live, others apparently have too much money. Sigh.

Good luck to you though!

feel like windows media player is only there to check a box that windows has a media player
This is probably not far from the truth. Although, I think it's still an important box to check, even if only 2.5 boomers are going to use an out-of-the-box media player.

Absolutely not, not until LLMs stop being unreliable bullshit generators, and I believe that the current generation of AI is simply not capable of it. Even the best available (lol) model, Fable/Mythos, is still a bullshit generator, just one that's a bit more powerful.

Sure. It doesn't mean that you're learning javascript though. This is where the OP, hodder, is wrong.

if this same effect happens for very wealthy and/or very senior executives?
Yes, I'm 100% sure. It's for the same reason: if you don't actively use a skill - it atrophies; there is no workaround.

Probably not.
