"they won't get fired if it keels over" ?

In a company that badly managed, AI or not AI the ship's going down.

There are sclerotic forces at work in Germany.

I sometimes wonder if the digestion of East-Germany hasn't somehow hurt a post-war rejuvenated Western&Southern German spirit.

Maybe it's just post-traumatic-stress from the Russian occupation still lingering: 1989 is not that far, generations-wise.

There is hope still... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT7MCko43YqeZ1x55O1DRtw

The question was whether Aristotle's model, as valid as it may or not be, is faithfully represented here.

What a Streisand effect here. I was totally uninterested in that tournament, but the picture of one American player's foot firmly twisting down another country's player's ankle is hard to unsee, and kind of a defining moment for the year.

Well yes and I don't see how this can be avoided.

quote: priest recovering from a hip fracture was offered MAID twice.

Was the fracture biased? maybe twice?

Looks good. I wonder what kind of improvement can be expected at the other end of the spectrum, ie with a few local models.

That is so not true. The golden rule of "say what you mean" is about the writer. It gets broken constantly by LLMs: they always add words that do not reinforce the meaning, but dilute it.

So I've made this [me+vibe+tests]-coded Android alarm app called Promptly, and as Gemini-CLI on the Google Pro subscription is getting google-killed on June 18th, I set up two branches, one for Antigravity+Gemini3.5 and one for Pi-coding-agent with Qwen3-Coder-Next...

Running the same prompt on both with the same .md memory state...

Gemini3.5 is more "intelligent" but Antigravity gets it to decide to go on tangents that are quite time and token-consuming I think. Nice casino machine.

Pi+Qwen3 (~80GB, llama.cpp) is like vibecoding about 1.5 years ago, when you had to babysit, structure your program to have self-contained chunks, and keep an eye on all the cross-cutting concerns to not trip it up. When it works it works fine and when it fails it's my job to ensure it fails fast.

The code is about 10'000 lines of Kotlin in total so it already takes some effort to keep it simple for the AI. It's not a slopped quantity of code, i got solid feature creep :^)

it sometimes goes like this: vibecoding viberequirements, vibeleadership vibemanagement, vibecustomers

as a matter of taste, you can substitute "slop" as a prefix

the choice of which city makes it into a dot seems very arbitrary, just for my corner of the woods, I see Genova and Lyons are omitted even they they are larger than their dot-neighbours on this map...

Jeff Bezos covered these grounds well here already, with his mandate on how meetings must run, and about "day one". Check him out.

So sad that with the right incentive structure his work would be of immense value to society, instead of his current Wall-E prologue side quest.

Do you mean the responsible people who will ensure their algorithms can be trusted with the important task of acting in the best interest of said people? Try and get a defamatory statement about google from the AI search box.

"motificational"? Excellent! "motifictional" also "motivafictional" would work , definitely reusing that!

IMHO that is the most likely of the many dystopian robots-replace-humans scenario:

The AI-enhanced become more and more AI-integrated and internally AI-fused and they don't even realize they eventually are not humans at all.

The non-AI underclass just hasn't got enough access to resources to survive long term and dies out with a whimper.

Same here, I vibe coded my perfect alarm & reminders & productivity app for Android, (Promptly AI link below) that does TTS and Gemini calls and other things that rapacious alarm-clock marketing masters charge dozens of bucks per month for, but at some point the day job and dislike of the marketing grind is just too much, summer is here and yeah...

More explicitly, it puts them at the same level as Kellog's, with one difference: breakfast cereals is profitable...

Sure, untreated mental illness is a tragedy, and humanity sucks balls at biology, so hard it's as if we wished to be made of silicon. How does this make for a trend or justify the idea that the WEIRD's least-harm decisions explain broader resources allocation in real monetary terms. We're talking about the price of how much concrete pouring in the sad story you linked? (WEIRD: Western Educated Industrialized Rich Democratic, indeed a dying breed)

No connection at all between this and the lie-flat and extremely low birth rate?
