I've been using [yadm](https://yadm.io/) instead which works really well!

If this is what will take for folks to move away from JS ecosystem, I'll take it.

Life is amazing. Can anyone recommend good modern starting points to someone who would want to learn more about how living beings work (from bottom up)? It has been a while since I actively delved into Biology (my school days).

Doesn’t “tanha” mean “by yourself” in Hindi?

I'd say learning things on your own, even if they take time, is still better as you don't have to actively force yourself to develop that mindset. We often rush towards our goal without realizing how important the journey (small steps) is. Isn't reaching the goal more worthwhile if you have enjoyed the journey along the way? Isn't that what it means to be human?

Microsoft has gone so deep down the gutter, it is almost unbelievable. I am waiting for the day their profits start taking a hit due to a collective boycott.

Gotta love the JS ecosystem where devs move faster than users.

Preach. I’m also more of a balcony enjoyer.

Ehh, not interested in HK or similar games with such a high difficulty bar. Life is too short to be playing games that are not fun to play (for me).

That’s one of my many reasons for sticking with Mac. I know the bar is higher and I just enjoy the consistency between first party and third party applications.

Why does a user need to know and do this to get a just bearable experience? Has the bar gotten so low?

I don't know what is going on at Microsoft but words can't express how fast their ecosystem has been going down the gutter. At this point, I do not recommend Microsoft's products if a good enough alternative exists (many times it does).

I’d recommend checking out MIT’s Distributed Systems course. All its videos and assignments are available online and teach you everything you would need to get into these systems and go in depth in them.

I disagree with your ending note. I like React and have been using it professionally for over 2 years, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use something just because it is an industry standard. At my work, for example, the upper management is now convinced that microservices are going to solve all of their current maintainability problems, while the fact is that there are a lot of employees that write shit code, who will also develop shit microservices.
