Absolutely love the aesthetic! The combination of futuristic, neon visuals with the noir genre looks amazing, I must say.

Have you tried Outverse?[1] It's a new startup aiming to solve this problem, with support for forum spaces, threads and more. I've been using it for some time now and would definitely recommend it! Makes it easier to save threads, common questions, etc and has a super intuitive interface overall. I'm looking forward to using it for my open source project, and it solves a lot of the problems I've had with current platforms.

You think nothing matters? How can you be so sure?

Congratulations! That's incredibly impressive, and is so inspiring, especially for all us fellow indie hackers out there. What were your main ways of acquiring new users? Do you have any marketing advice that helped you out?

Well done again, and wishing you continued success with your app!

Perhaps, in the state between our last waking moments and death, it could be possible that we might have a spiritual realization about the way we've treated others and ultimately lived our lives. Perhaps, we are given one last chance to view the events of our life from a "higher" point-of-view, thus giving us a chance to reflect upon our memories and look back upon the actions we've taken throughout the course of our lifetimes.

I think you'd like the film Mullholland Drive (2001), it dealt with this theme in such a profound way, that to be honest, it completely transformed my whole way of thinking around death, life, hopes, fears and the essence of dreams. Would definitely recommend, by far one of the best films I've ever seen.

I'm already inundated with endless popups, advertisements, surveys, and other requests when I browse the web on my mobile device.

I don't want to have to do that for everyday living too.

"You have violated the terms of service and your account has been suspended. You no longer have access to Reality."

You know you're going in the wrong direction as a species if a corporation can have control of your every interaction, and they can take that access away if they so wish. They do it today, why should it be any different when the metaverse exists?

Just wondering why would it be disappointing if it implies the anthropic principle?

This is amazing, I absolutely love this idea! Must be so cool to see the light flashing haha

I'd love to see more stuff like this, nice work overall!

Not a huge fan of the new Firefox Proton UI, the tabs look more like buttons and I found the previous design a lot more streamlined. The new design doesn't feel as usable as it should be IMO, and it'll be a reason for me to move to another browser if the design isn't updated in the future.

At the moment, I've switched off Proton in the about:config section, but it's only a matter of time before this will no longer be an option. Hopefully Firefox will go back to the old UI or at least make some changes!

I'm very worried about this, as I've been using Unsplash's images for a lot of my blog posts. I'm just wondering how this will affect users of Unsplash's images in the long-term? Will we have to take down all our content that makes use of Unsplash imagery, in case Getty places a new license on the images or requires a fee to use the images? Or will they stay free? It's so hard to predict what will happen now that this acquisition has taken place. Unsplash was too good to be true, and now their time has come.

Definitely, I've had a similar level of benefit when putting my phone in another room, it always worked great and helped me get some deep work done. Glad it works for you also, always great to see others doing this too!

The best benefit I've seen is my increased focus and ability to do deep work. I actually feel like I'm getting way more work done, and have the ability to now focus for hours at a time. Before, work usually consisted of surface level attempts at "working" before I was notified on Discord or social media about something.

Notifications and the constant desire to check for replies have really hindered my productivity in ways unimaginable. Now, without distraction, I can get meaningful work done. Hugely beneficial and transformed my whole manner of working.

Gen Z today are becoming increasingly more isolated; the long-term effects of this are yet to be known and could be serious. But it angers me that this is often an issue that's overlooked, especially when it's such a prevalent one.

It's truly disturbing to think of the little regard there is for the mental health of young people, especially in an age fraught with enough social isolation as it is. Gen Z will be forever known as The Lonely Generation if something won't be done to help.

Recently, RTE News in Ireland did a segment covering short films that young people made about their experiences in lockdown (link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_jZWm6tzpQ), and it was truly harrowing to hear what they had to say and the short films that resulted.
