they don't need to use the whole humanoid, they can take the legs or abdomen alone and use them as is

the human frame is just an experimental proxy for functionality, which turned out to be promising

two arms alone is the purpose-built robot you're referencing

microsoft is an amazing study in managed decline

that people still buy this, businesses still rely on their infrastructure, and their stock is somehow world-class is outstanding for the fact that its operating system can't do what middle school level coders can accomplish

the attempted takeover of the gaming industry has been the biggest blowback to western political establishments everywhere

video games would normally distract people who would otherwise remain politically inactive

when these establishments attempt to insert their propaganda and control mechanisms into these industries, it infuriates millions of people who just want to be left alone

this is among the same kind of problem that people have with facebook and google, and these "login with your ___ account" problems

if so much of your life is centralized through a few accounts, then these companies shouldn't have a legal right to ban you from using it

not surprising, european political elites seem to do whatever they want regardless of whether it's good for their countries

they would kill their own product if they did this

it would be like if tsmc started designing their own chips to compete with the people they sell their services to, they have more to gain by limiting their participation to a specific corner

imo there are two major kinds of models

there are models you can speak with, that respond to what you say

and there are models that just make lists, that list everything, include weird formats and add asteriks everywhere.

deepseek, to me, will always be the latter, and i can't stand it, you can't ask it a coherent question and get a coherent response.

it's fair, especially because if people want to contribute to something so badly, they can make their own fork or version of it

they can vibe-code their own browser, there's no need for the public to access every single open-source project anymore, you need to find people you can actually trust

If this was 200k of anything else I don't think I'd care as much. I'm not sure why childish objects are worthy of more vitriol than anything else, but I definitely feel that way.

i'm beginning to find it comical how every model release always presents itself as superior to every other model on the market, but they always leave just one test where some other model was modestly better, just in case.

initially, not a lot of people were using gemini

google pushed it into their other products to attract people to AI

there was and still are a decent number of people who haven't really used it, as crazy as that sounds
