From the acquisitions I've followed, what they do is firing 80% of the staff the next week after the acquisition, raise prices, and put the app in maintenance mode. I don't know if they've done something more sensible elsewhere, but they mostly do wealth extraction.

Using personal messaging apps for work, for example, sending work related messages through WhatsApp or Telegram instead of using the proper corporate/official app.

You can forbid your employees to use non official apps to send work related messages for privacy, compliance, security and other reasons.

Yeah, nowadays I think it's like 15€ to enter, there's like a huge line to enter, and I think it's usually crowded inside. They'll discount the 15€ if you buy anything, but if you don't find anything interesting... it's a very expensive visit.

Definitely. The print information says it's printed at least 50 years later than the original.

> But my guess is there are things they don't want the Trump DSI/NSA/CIA/Military Intelligence to see.

You don't have to guess, that's exactly what the headline says: "...over fears of national security leaks". And several times in the body of the article.

Oh! I missed the Gaggiuino scandal. What did they do, stop open sourcing? Are they trying to get money from selling it?

Edit: Ah, just found an "out of the loop" explanation here... https://old.reddit.com/r/gaggiaclassic/comments/1hbnd8r/out_...

Nice! That looks pretty similar to the one in "Cuadernos Rubio", a system that was super popular from the 60s to the 90s in Spain (that still exists) for learning handwriting in primary school.

I'd like to know where did they get the stats ClearFlow mentions in their site (reducing backspace corrections by 37.5% and shortening finger gliding distance by 41.6%.) and see what method did they use to analyze those swipe patterns and create .

It could be interesting for applying it to different languages (or modified word corpus).

It's like the complete opposite of "bidding fee"/"penny" auctions, which are very scammy and provide plenty of profit to the auctioneer, but people feel like they could get a great price. But if you make the math (and notice the dark patterns and know that usually there are also fake bidders...) you can see how much of a scam they are.

There's no "both sides" of the bets in this case. All the bets researched by the WSJ were fake, none of those bets was ever placed.

That happened to me, at least, with F-29 Retaliator. Your best bet was starting a mission already in the air, as the game (IIRC) didn't include any tutorials.

The F-19 denomination was never used, they skipped from F-18 to F-20. The game was based on what they believed that the stealth fighter (F-117) was going to be before it was publicly acknowledged. So maybe it wasn't trademarked. (Or maybe they trademarked everything just in case...)

Vaguely similar to the F-29 Retaliator game, that was based in the X-29 experimental fighter, but not in an existing F-29 of any kind.

Well, Iroh is more P2P (direct connections) and less VPN (subnet routing).

If anyone really wants to use Tailscale (or I think Headscale should work too) at application layer, you can use tsnet [0]

That would make SSH look like a VPN ;)

How asking for more money is protecting anything?

They usually come with tax exemptions (so not really good fiscal impact), and make prices climb like crazy. See Portugal and their remote worker visa, they outpriced most Portuguese people out of every city slightly near an airport.

Yeah well, I said Nippon Kaigi because the PM and a good bunch of the people around them are Nippon Kaigi, but yeah, Sanseito is having fun too.

> The police suspect around 1,000 people may be working in Japan illegally through these types of schemes.

In a country with a population of 123 million, that's a non issue just for pleasing far right Nippon Kaigi friendly voters.

Yep, think movie props or fake computer or books in an IKEA or other furniture store. Maybe a whole shelf with a cardboard structure simulating the spines of a bunch of books, but all empty inside.

Also Strand (in NYC) has that service. You can by them by the foot based on color, style, theme...
