I never claimed to have researched marijuana's medicinal uses. My experience is all I have and it's purely recreational.
I do not suffer from chronic pain, and never have. Marijuana just has never crossed my mind as something to consume when injured to treat the pain.
People are downvoting my comment as if I said marijuana has no medicinal value, that's obviously not the case. I was only expressing my surprise at these applications of something which, for me, never seemed particularly numbing except in quite incapacitatingly high doses. When I take a pain killer, it's generally undesirable for it to make me completely useless for a day. I'm just curious if that's how it's being used or if my experience is not representative.
I've vaped pure CBD oil a few times as well, the effects were interesting and not at all disabling or paranoia-inducing, but no pain relieving effects were noticable either. I could see how it might be huge for preventing pain resulting from some neuropathic disorders, however.
To be clear: my post was not intended in any away to judge the patients finding physical pain relief in weed. It just surprises me, weed doesn't fill that role in my mind.
Things like this surprise me. Marijuana has never struck me as something to take for pain. In my experience it heightens sensations and increases paranoia while stimulating appetite. I don't see that as especially useful for treating something like tooth pain. Are these patients just getting super baked to the point of comatose?

Please provide evidence to back the claim of intent. This comes across as if you're implying malice, when it's far more likely interfaces change in the natural course of development where there are no restraints like abi/api stability commitments.
Have you brought this is to the attention of the devs? I'd at least hop on freenode #dri-devel and ask around. The people working on this stuff are very accessible, and that is one of the advantages of having an open driver preferably in mainline. Instead of just complaining and accepting poor results, it's a very real possibility to get involved and collaborate with the authors in improving this for yourself and everyone else
Obese people probably produce elevated levels of insulin-like growth factors over time due to their dietary choices. IGF-1 is already understood to increase cancer rates.
Intermittent fasting studies tend to focus on IGF-1 levels in the interests of slowing aging, which is of course strongly related to cancer prevention.
Funny, and I hope it was cheap and not riddled with debt baggage, because I doubt there's much value left in a pile of ailing brick and mortar stores at this point.
I hope for adafruit's sake this is just a joke around a framed radio shack cert.
I can't speak for everyone, but psychedelics really help one internalize that beauty is perceived. Everything we experience is through a perception filter.
Psychedelics are an effective means of clearing the filter of all the constraints a person accumulates in the course of life. Culture, society, education, religion, it all serves to build the filters up.
If one finds beauty in the world under the influence of psychedelics, in my experience it tends to persist long after the drugs have left the system.
MacOS is a dead end, iOS is clearly where Apple is converging and you'll shortly see ARM laptops from Apple shipping iOS. It's only a matter of time before their flagship productivity-oriented products are running iOS.
You may have just discovered how prolific Apple fanboyism is on HN. If Google did this it'd be a much bigger deal on HN and people would be pointing out how this is why they use Apple products.
All smartphones are a privacy/security shit show, Apple is no exception.
I use the thinklight for illuminating RSA keyfobs in the dark. Granted, I can tilt the screen and crank up its brightness to achieve the same thing, but it's cumbersome and maybe some people would prefer to read something illuminated while typing and seeing the screen simultaneously. At least my RSA codes are short enough to type from memory.
