The emails aren't just one way. I don't see the emails in my sent items, but when the receiving party replies (his boss) I see the original email that was sent from my old email address.
The party invite was from a real person, not those evite sites.
I can no longer login to the old account and my recovery options no longer work.
While yes, the possibility of a hacked account crossed my mind, but Gmail is pretty loud when someone logs in from a new ip.
This has been atleast 2 years now.
Maybe I should call him. He isn't doing well with his realtor sales.
Yes. I can prove that this is real. I had a Gmail account that I registered when I was younger and did exactly that - setup a forward to my alt (which over the years became my primary). A few years ago I started receiving emails for another person with my same name. Legit work emails, party invites and the like. Turns out that person was using my original email.
I never contacted anyone about this for fear Google would just delete both accounts to save their own asses.
Still receive those emails to this day.
However recent times have convinced me that it's time to move away from the big ol G. This is space issue is one of them.
Me. All of my Canadian news broadcasters stream on YouTube and cover covid related news both live and recorded content. I use YouTube because I will not pay for cable service just to watch the news.
I can see why they want to remove bad content, but a single authority is very bad.
Yea, it also only talks about bypassing/breaking passwords, what if the user has a sticky note at their desk and the password is readily exposed. Is that considered hacking? Should be. Unauthorized access regardless of how irresponsible the owner of that account is. At the same time you do not need a ToS or banner saying that. (it still remains illegal to break/trespass into someone's home without a notice saying so!)
Slippery slope. I'd gander a guess this will continue to be a case-by-case call.
I struggled with this thought before buying my rM1, and I can honestly say it's worth the price tag.
Both physically and mentally this device has changed how I use tablets/devices. It feels like real paper to me, and without all of the glorified app icons and notifications screaming at me I feel more focused on the task at hand. Purpose-driven devices reduces distractions and has helped me grow professionally and I'll even go as far as saying reduced some stress and anxiety.
I am seriously considering buying a dumb phone (minimalist interface) thanks to the impact the rM1 has had on my productivity.
As a managed IT service provider - absolutely nothing. The current fastest method, credit cards, we don't generally accept. The rates we pay to accept credit cards or PayPal are already so high - I don't normally accept those types of payments unless the customer is willing to pay a service fee.
In Canada, we have Interac, which is also instant. But not many of my customers want to use that either because, you guessed it, service fees. Even then, these payment methods make their lives easier, not mine. I've built my business around 15 days min to receive payments. 99% of them are fine with cheques. So there isn't much incentive for me to consider this.
I disagree - spent a considerable amount of time with zerotier as a possible replacement of a small sized ipsec mesh (4 sites) and it failed horribly. Had commercial support, different hardware and even virtualized it. Latency was a major issue and quality of the links were erratic to say the least. Don't get me wrong, I think zerotier is great, but it's not prime time.
I have to agree here with robomartin. Stores might be open or they might not. Even though there is large chance they might remain open - they will almost certainly be overrun if this were to go into panic mode.
I can't even buy dust masks at my local home improvement store as they are out of stock. And that's not even a necessity!
Thank you for pointing this out - after reading the OPS article, it is the first thought to mind. Maybe I missed it, but the premise of the article is contextualized on the response rather than the originating presentation of the problem. If the person isn't asking for your help, it can come off as offensive when hearing remarks/responses like this; and as many point out in the comments - there is no easy way to say it. This just leads to that person internalizing in the future and less likely to seek actual help. This isn't an insecurity, NO ONE wants their work invalidated. (and so many wonder why workplace burnouts are common)
While the proverbial "There is no I in team" applies here, the real lack of social skills is on the OP, not the person presenting the problem.
Re-phrasing aside, a simple, "Hey, that's an interesting problem. I may be able help if you'd like" before stating the obvious solution will go miles in the conversation and re-enforce the relationship between both parties.
That's right, in large, society doesn't care and never will. Learn from your mistakes and move on. From reading all your posts I can tell you being assertive didn't get you fired, but probably your cynical attitude.
2-3 years wasted - please, even working a job out of your field for that amount of time will teach you new things. You are hooked on this school situation as being the roadblock that's seemingly impossible to overcome. Figure it out.
The choice is yours to be a victim of circumstance. Time to get your ducks in order and have a little humility and compassion for yourself instead of throwing your hands up and calling bullshit. This is life.
