Decrease the number of variables and conditions to any physical system; say to something binary and you end up with a 50/50 argument, which means at worst means you can always fall back on trial and error, and at best you might discover something you didn't see before. Simple theories are better than "holistic" theories, because they act as a starting point for many more testable simple theories. Knowledge at it's most primitive form is ultimately somewhat binary, completely testable and scalable.
We are here, so why can't aliens exist, right? I don't think it's as simple as the drake equation suggests. There are trillions of variables that life on earth has had to overcome with relative success. Even this is abstract and is in turn subjective. I speculate that if we repeatedly redefine our assumptions on how unlikely it is for life to arise in our part of the universe, we still only have a potential baseline for life in the milky way; this is again skewed by our position in the solar system and cannot be reasonably accounted for by an algorithm. (We don't know what we can't test)
if 'you' are attempting to consider a spectra of possible universes, let alone compare them or analyse them on a hypothetical x, y vector of possible outcomes which stretches from now until the end of the "infinite" multiverse; you will fuck it up royally. Infinity is not a mathematical concept, and is instead abstract and used to practically account for unknown variables. While the many worlds interpretation is cool, considering how it actually affects anything we do or how we sit in the universe is a miserably hopeless feat. probably have more luck searching for god in a piece of toast.
Using recurrent neural nets to map and train ai based on part of the visual connectome of a fly is interesting but lacks scalable experimental feasibility. Every new neuron in the algorithm introduces an exponential amount of complexity to the ai which takes away from it's scalability.

Physical theories imply physical laws and consistent variables which require consistent math and hard scientific research; There is no escaping that. To say that physics is like a "landscape" is like comparing scribble of a stick man to a Picasso. There is a lot we don't know about the universe, I think its time for writers and physicists to get on board with that and analyze the shit out of their vague and opaque understandings before hitting the enter key.
Use a portmanteau generator for inspiration. Think about what words represent your company holistically. Think about content you're providing. Consider your audience. When you think of something don't tell anyone until it's registered.
