I solved a problem with the information I recently learned, and it fit right into it perfectly. I understood how things work, and started learning deeply into subject.
Finish this in a week, and create open source projects, then get a full-time job.
It doesn't have to be PHP, you can start with Javascript/NodeJS, but definitely learn a database side, server side and client side programming language to create a whole web application by yourself.
I believe myself this development in APIs is just tip of the iceberg. If the software development goes like this, everything will become huge, and hard to scale, and will need lots of engineering resources.
Apple is developing really slow after Steve Jobs, but if they play their cards smartly they will dominant this Online TV industry with their devices in every people's houses and pockets. They already have the fundamental background as hardware, only thing they need to do is signing contracts with shows and channels.
Lets create an online Javascript bible, not the frameworks like angular, ember, backbone etc... But core javascript, objects, constructor functions, bitwise operators. Everything about Javascript language should be there.
