The only way to build a non toxic company is to have a good culture of cherry picking non toxic individuals all the way from the board of investors.

> We could change the fs layer to memcached but so far it's working great.

This so much. (Ab)Using a db table as a k/v store + the FS can do so much before even considering paying the price of setting up a dedicated caching store. I’ve fought countless foes in the engineering world when proposing solutions like yours just because (incompetent) people feel like caching should live in its dedicated store.

Tbh I'll wait for first party LLM providers to build this kind of stuff. If they're not first class citizens they end up corrupting the workflow more than enriching it.

Imagine not trashing it for no valid reason in the first place, saving the useless effort to ditch it and then resume it shortly after.

Sometimes nothing is better than something. $5 for 512mb of RAM is something I regret witnessing.

Pushed for my company to adopt TigerBeetle for its foundational service rewrite recently and couldn't be happier with the experience we're having so far.

Why are we still trying to get C++ to become a viable choice instead of calling it a day and moving on?

I guess it's my old theory that organisations turn into living beings and start living off of mere survival instinct even past the point of serving any purpose to society.
